What is ECC/DEC/(22)02?.
ECC/DEC/(22)02 is a new regulation regarding the class of DSC functionality for use by man-overboard devices. From December 31st, 2024, it will render existing AIS MOBs without DSC non-compliant and illegal to use in the waters of a number of European countries.
This ECC decision gives guidance for the harmonized operation of AMRD Group A and Group B including the usage of frequencies, identification, and registration.
